Philodendron Gigas - Preorder

Philodendron gigas is offered as a pre order. This rare species Philodendron is native to Panama and is highly prized for its large velvety leaves with a deep green surface and subtle sheen. As the plant matures the foliage becomes broader and more dramatic, giving it a luxurious and highly collectible presence among velvet leaf philodendrons.

We receive small cuttings and grow the plants for two months. The plants in the pictures are mature plants. The plant you will receive is grown in a 6–9 cm pot.

Care instructions

• Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight to protect the velvety leaves
• Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of the mix feels dry. Keep lightly moist
• Humidity: 70–90% preferred for optimal growth and leaf size
• Temperature: 18–28°C. Avoid cold drafts
• Soil: Airy aroid mix with bark, perlite or pumice and coco or peat
