Hoya crassipetiolata 'Splash' is a rare and fast-growing vining plant, loved for its thick, oval-shaped leaves generously dusted with silver splashes. The foliage features a soft green base, often with subtle veining, and the occasional hint of red or purple in bright light, especially along the petioles and leaf margins. This variety is a visual treat for collectors who enjoy unique textures and unpredictable variegation.
Under the right conditions, mature plants produce clusters of sweetly scented, star-shaped flowers, adding to its appeal as both a foliage and flowering houseplant.

Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct morning sun can enhance splash and color, but strong afternoon sun should be avoided to prevent leaf burn. Tolerates lower light, but splash may fade.
Watering
Allow the top 3–5 cm (1–2 inches) of soil to dry out between waterings. Like many Hoyas, it prefers to be on the drier side and is sensitive to overwatering. Always use a well-draining pot and avoid letting the plant sit in water.
Temperature & Humidity
Ideal temperature range is 18–27°C (65–80°F). It prefers moderate to high humidity, especially when you’re encouraging blooms. It can adapt to normal indoor humidity but will thrive with a little extra moisture in the air.
Soil
Use a light, chunky, well-draining mix. A blend of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir or peat moss works well. Good airflow around the roots is essential.
Fertilizing
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Use a bloom booster if you're aiming for flowers. Reduce feeding in the colder months.
Pruning & Maintenance
Minimal pruning needed. Let vines trail or climb naturally. Do not remove the peduncles (flower spurs), as Hoyas often re-bloom from the same spot.
Pests
Watch for mealybugs and spider mites, especially in dry indoor conditions. Keep leaves clean and inspect regularly.
