Monstera adansonii, commonly known as the “Swiss Cheese Plant,” is a unique and fast-growing tropical vine loved for its striking, hole-filled leaves. Its naturally fenestrated foliage gives it a wild, jungle-like charm that adds character and texture to any indoor space. This climbing species is perfect for hanging baskets or training up a moss pole or trellis, and it thrives both as a trailing plant or when encouraged to climb.
Easy to care for and full of personality, Monstera adansonii is ideal for both beginners and seasoned plant collectors looking for something a little more eye-catching than the typical Monstera deliciosa.

Vårdguide
Vårdguide
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, while low light may reduce growth and leaf fenestration.
Watering
Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Let the top 1–2 inches (2–5 cm) of soil dry out between waterings. Water less frequently during the winter months.
Temperature & Humidity
Thrives in temperatures between 18–27°C (65–80°F). It prefers higher humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions. If humidity is low, the leaves may curl or develop brown edges.
Soil
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix. A blend with perlite, coco coir, and orchid bark works well to support healthy roots.
Fertilizing
Feed once a month during the growing season (spring to fall) with a balanced liquid fertilizer. No need to fertilize in winter when growth slows.
Pruning & Maintenance
Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. It can get leggy without support, so consider using a trellis or moss pole for vertical growth.
Pests
Generally resistant but may attract pests like spider mites or thrips. Regularly check the undersides of the leaves and rinse occasionally to prevent infestations.
