Ficus Petiolaris - Preorder

Ficus petiolaris is offered as a pre order. This unique species is native to Mexico and is known for its swollen caudex base and round leaves with striking red veins. It naturally grows in dry rocky environments, storing water in its base, which gives it a bonsai like appearance over time. The combination of sculptural form and delicate foliage makes it especially appealing for collectors.

We receive small cuttings and grow the plants for two months. The plants in the pictures are mature plants. The plant you will receive is grown in a 6–9 cm pot.

Care instructions

• Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some direct sun which supports compact growth
• Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of the mix feels dry. Allow more drying than typical tropical plants
• Humidity: 40–60% is sufficient
• Temperature: 18–30°C. Avoid cold drafts
• Soil: Well draining mix with coco or peat, perlite and bark, with added drainage recommended
