Alocasia Simpo Albo Variegata is a rare variegated form of Alocasia Simpo, a cultivated selection derived from Alocasia sanderiana, a species native to the Philippines. The plant is admired for its dramatic arrow shaped leaves with deep lobes strong veining and a bold upright presence. In the Albo Variegata form the glossy green foliage is contrasted by irregular marbling and sectors of crisp white to creamy variegation creating a striking high contrast look. Each leaf develops unique patterns making every plant a true collector specimen.
Due to the rarity of stable variegation and the naturally vigorous yet sensitive growth of this cultivar this plant performs best in controlled indoor environments where conditions remain consistent.
Care guide
Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to maintain variegation and support compact healthy growth. Avoid direct sunlight which can damage the lighter areas of the leaves.
High Humidity
High humidity is preferred ideally above sixty percent. Consistent humidity helps prevent leaf edge damage and reduces stress.
Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy and well draining aroid substrate to support healthy roots and prevent compaction.
Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or remain waterlogged.
Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.
Growth habit and additional care
Upright non climbing growth with bold architectural foliage. Variegated leaves are sensitive to stress low humidity and inconsistent care so stable conditions minimal handling and a consistent routine are essential for long term success.
