A specialist assassin for soft scale! 🎯 The parasitic wasp Microterys flavus (nietneri) is used to control brown soft scale, Coccus hesperidum — the sticky, honeydew-producing scale that plagues many houseplants.

How it works

The tiny wasp lays its eggs inside the soft scale; its developing young consume the scale from within, and a new generation of wasps emerges to continue the hunt. Because it's a specialist, it's remarkably effective — just make sure you've identified brown soft scale, as Microterys won't tackle other scale species.

How to use

Place or hang the wasps among the affected plants, out of direct sunlight, near the scale colonies. Warm, stable indoor conditions give the best establishment.

Good to know: 25 parasitic wasps. Specific to brown soft scale (Coccus hesperidum).
