Nematodes for Chafer Grubs – 50 Million

Stop chafer grubs wrecking your lawn! 🌱 Nematodes (Heterorhabditis bacteriophora/Steinernema feltiae) target the fat white larvae of the garden chafer (Phyllopertha horticola) that feed on grass roots near the surface.

How it works

Adult chafers fly low over the lawn on sunny mornings in May–June and lay their eggs; the grubs that hatch eat the grass roots, leaving turf dry, yellow and easy to lift — and drawing in birds and animals that dig it up. Watered in, the nematodes seek out the grubs, infect them with lethal bacteria and multiply inside before moving on.

How to use

For outdoor use. The optimal window is late July to mid-September, when larvae are small and near the surface — about 4 weeks after you spot the adults. Dissolve in water, apply immediately and keep the ground moist for at least two weeks. Best above 12 °C soil temperature; apply early morning, evening or on a cloudy day to avoid UV.

Good to know: 50 million nematodes — covers approximately 50–100 m².
