Aktie
Send in the cavalry against aphids! 🐛 This clever two-in-one mix pairs roughly 200 aphid gall midges (Aphidoletes aphidimyza) with about 100 parasitic wasps (Aphidius colemani) — a natural tag-team that hunts aphids around the clock.
How it works
The gall midge hatches, flies out and lays tiny red eggs right in the aphid colonies; its larvae are ravenous predators that suck out large numbers of aphids. Meanwhile the parasitic wasp lays an egg inside each aphid — after about ten days the aphid swells into a papery bronze "mummy", and two weeks later a fresh wasp chews its way out to hunt again. Two life cycles, one quiet victory.
How to use
For heavy infestations, first give the plant a good rinse with water or insecticidal soap. Open the box out in the greenhouse next to the affected plants and set it in the shade (for example under a clay pot with a hole). The insects take over from there.
Good to know: Covers approximately 10 m². Best in greenhouses and conservatories.
