Amydrium medium 'Blue' is a rare and captivating climbing aroid, prized for its elongated, deeply lobed foliage and unique silvery-blue hue. Native to Southeast Asia, this tropical beauty is a close relative of Monstera and Rhaphidophora, with a similar growth habit but a distinct, metallic sheen that sets it apart. The leaves start out narrow and simple in shape but become increasingly fenestrated and lobed as the plant matures, especially when given support to climb.
With its shimmering blue-grey foliage and tropical elegance, Amydrium medium 'Blue' makes a stunning addition to any aroid collection or indoor jungle.

Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light, but higher light levels (without direct sun) help encourage faster growth and more defined leaf structure. Avoid strong midday sun, which can fade or burn the foliage.
Watering
Water when the top 2–3 cm (1 inch) of soil feels dry. This plant enjoys consistent moisture but does not like to sit in water. Ensure proper drainage and avoid overwatering.
Temperature & Humidity
Ideal temperature range is 20–28°C (68–82°F). Prefers moderate to high humidity, above 50% is best to keep leaves lush and encourage mature growth. If humidity is low, consider misting or using a humidifier.
Soil
Use a well-draining aroid mix, a blend of coco coir or peat, perlite, and orchid bark works well. The mix should be light and airy to avoid compacting around the roots.
Fertilizing
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Reduce or pause fertilizing during the cooler months.
Pruning & Maintenance
Minimal pruning is required. Remove yellow or damaged leaves to maintain health. Provide a moss pole or trellis to support climbing and encourage larger, more fenestrated leaves.
Pests
Generally pest-resistant but may attract spider mites or mealybugs in dry conditions. Inspect regularly and maintain healthy humidity levels.
