About
About
Philodendron 'Birkin' is a modern classic, loved for its crisp white pinstripes that elegantly streak across deep green, glossy leaves. Each new leaf unfurls with unique variegation, sometimes pure white, sometimes a mix of green and cream, making every plant truly one of a kind. With its upright, compact growth habit and eye-catching contrast, 'Birkin'is perfect for desktops, shelves, or as a refined focal point in any indoor space.
As a self-heading (non-vining) variety, it's easy to care for and well-suited for beginners and collectors alike who appreciate low-maintenance plants with high visual impact.

Care guide
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Too little light can reduce variegation, while direct sun may scorch the leaves. Near a north- or east-facing window is ideal.
Watering
Water when the top 2–3 cm (about 1 inch) of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Always use a pot with drainage holes to avoid root rot.
Temperature & Humidity
Enjoys warm indoor temperatures between 18–27°C (65–80°F). Average humidity is fine, but a slight boost in humidity will support healthy, vibrant growth.
Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix with a blend with coco coir or peat, perlite, and orchid bark provides good airflow and moisture balance.
Fertilizing
Feed once a month during the growing season (spring through early fall) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Skip fertilization during the winter.
Pruning & Maintenance
Minimal pruning is needed. Just remove yellowing or damaged leaves as needed. Rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth on all sides.
Pests
Generally low-maintenance, but watch for mealybugs, spider mites, or aphids. Keep leaves clean and inspect regularly.
