Monstera Tricolor is an exceptionally rare variegated form of Monstera deliciosa, a climbing aroid species native to Central America. The species is known for its large fenestrated leaves and vigorous growth habit. In the Tricolor form the bold green foliage is patterned with a striking mix of cream pale yellow and soft mint to light green variegation, creating a layered multicolored effect that makes each leaf visually dramatic. Variegation patterns vary greatly from leaf to leaf, making every plant completely unique and highly sought after by collectors.
Because of the rarity of stable tricolor variegation and the strong growth of Monstera deliciosa, this plant performs best in controlled indoor environments where light and care remain consistent.
Care guide
Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to maintain tricolor variegation and support healthy growth. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the lighter areas of the leaves.
High Humidity
Moderate to high humidity is preferred, ideally above fifty five percent. Consistent humidity supports healthy foliage and reduces stress.
Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy, well draining aroid substrate rich in organic matter to support strong root development.
Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or remain waterlogged.
Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius, or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.
Growth habit and additional care
Climbing growth with large fenestrated foliage and strong aerial roots. Variegated leaves are sensitive to stress, low humidity and inconsistent care, so stable conditions, minimal handling and a consistent routine are essential for long term success.
