Alocasia wentii Pink Variegata is a rare variegated form of Alocasia wentii, a robust Alocasia species native to Sulawesi and surrounding regions of Indonesia. The species is known for its large glossy green leaves and deep burgundy to purple undersides which give the plant a strong tropical presence. In the pink variegated form the bold foliage is accented by irregular marbling and splashes of soft pink tones that range from blush to dusty rose creating a striking contrast against the deep green surface. Each leaf develops unique patterns making this plant a highly desirable collector specimen.
Due to the combination of strong growth and sensitive variegation this plant performs best in controlled indoor environments where stable conditions support long term health.
Care guide
Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to maintain pink variegation and support healthy growth. Avoid direct sunlight which can damage the lighter areas of the leaves.
High Humidity
High humidity is preferred ideally above sixty percent. Consistent humidity helps prevent leaf edge damage and reduces stress.
Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy and well draining aroid substrate to support healthy roots and prevent compaction.
Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or remain waterlogged.
Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.
Growth habit and additional care
Upright non climbing growth with broad foliage and colorful undersides. Variegated leaves are sensitive to stress low humidity and inconsistent care so stable conditions minimal handling and a consistent routine are essential for long term success.
