Alocasia Stingray Aurea is a rare variegated cultivated form of Alocasia macrorrhizos Stingray, a distinctive Alocasia cultivar with no documented wild origin. The Stingray form is known for its dramatic elongated leaf tips that resemble a stingray tail giving the plant a playful and sculptural appearance. In the Aurea form the bold green foliage is accented by warm golden yellow variegation appearing as marbling and patches across the leaf surface. The combination of unusual leaf shape and luminous aurea coloring makes each plant a striking collector specimen with unique character.

Because of its size potential and the instability of aurea variegation this plant performs best in controlled indoor environments where light humidity and watering can remain consistent.

Care guide

Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to support vigorous growth and maintain aurea variegation. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the lighter areas of the leaves.

High Humidity
High humidity is preferred ideally above sixty percent. Consistent humidity supports healthy leaf development and reduces stress.

Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy and well draining aroid substrate to support strong root growth and prevent excess moisture.

Watering

Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady and robust growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.

Growth habit and additional care
Large upright non climbing growth with long sculptural foliage and distinctive tail like tips. This plant can become sizeable over time and benefits from stable conditions consistent care and sufficient space. Aurea variegation may fluctuate so patience minimal disturbance and a regular routine are essential for long term success.
