Alocasia Sarian Aurea is a rare variegated cultivated form of Alocasia Sarian, a large growing hybrid Alocasia with no documented wild origin. Sarian is valued for its tall upright growth and elongated arrow shaped leaves with pronounced lobes and strong veining. In the Aurea form the bold green foliage is accented by warm golden yellow variegation that appears as marbling and soft patches across the leaf surface creating a luminous and dramatic contrast. Each leaf develops unique patterns making this plant a highly desirable collector specimen.
Because of its size potential and the instability of aurea variegation this plant performs best in controlled indoor environments where stable conditions support healthy growth.
Care guide
Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to maintain aurea variegation and support vigorous growth. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the lighter areas of the leaves.
High Humidity
High humidity is preferred ideally above sixty percent. Consistent humidity helps prevent leaf edge damage and reduces stress.
Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy and well draining aroid substrate to support strong root development and prevent excess moisture.
Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or remain waterlogged.
Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady and robust growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.
Growth habit and additional care
Tall upright non climbing growth with elongated foliage and strong structure. This plant can become large over time and benefits from stable conditions consistent care and sufficient space. Aurea variegation may fluctuate so patience minimal disturbance and a regular routine are essential for long term success.
