Alocasia Heart Balloon Variegata - Preorder

Alocasia Heart Balloon Variegata is a rare variegated cultivated form admired for its rounded heart shaped leaves and soft sculptural appearance. The foliage is thick and slightly inflated in form giving the plant its distinctive balloon like look. In the variegated form the gentle green base is accented by irregular marbling and patches of cream to pale yellow creating a refined and playful contrast. Each leaf develops its own unique pattern which makes every plant a true collector specimen.

This plant is a selectively cultivated form with no clearly documented wild origin and is best suited for controlled indoor environments where stable conditions allow its unique leaf shape and variegation to develop fully.

Care guide

Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to support healthy growth and maintain variegation. Avoid direct sunlight which can damage the lighter areas of the leaves.

High Humidity
High humidity is preferred ideally above sixty percent. Consistent humidity supports leaf structure and reduces stress.

Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy and well draining aroid substrate to keep roots healthy and well oxygenated.

Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or remain waterlogged.

Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.

Compact upright growth with no climbing behavior. Variegated leaves are sensitive to stress low humidity and inconsistent care so stable conditions minimal handling and a consistent routine are essential for long term success.
