Big-lawn leatherjacket control! 🌱 250 million nematodes (Steinernema carpocapsae/feltiae) to protect a large lawn from the root-eating larvae of the crane fly.

How it works

Crane fly larvae feed on grass roots through autumn and winter, leaving patchy, dying turf — and attracting birds that tear up the lawn to reach them. Watered in, the microscopic nematodes track down the young larvae, infect them with lethal bacteria and reproduce inside them before spreading to find more.

How to use

For outdoor use. Treat about 2–3 weeks after adult crane flies are seen swarming (usually August/September), targeting the small larvae. Dissolve in water and apply straight away, keeping the ground moist for at least two weeks. Best above 12 °C soil temperature; apply early morning, evening or on a cloudy day to protect from UV.

Good to know: 250 million nematodes — covers approximately 300–500 m².
