Alocasia pseudo sanderiana Aurea is a rare cultivated Alocasia inspired by Alocasia sanderiana, a species native to the Philippines. Pseudo sanderiana itself is considered a horticultural selection rather than a naturally occurring wild form. The plant is admired for its elongated arrow shaped leaves with dramatic lobes bold venation and a strong upright presence. In the Aurea form the deep green foliage is accented by warm golden yellow variegation appearing as marbling and soft patches across the leaf surface creating a luminous high contrast effect. Each leaf develops unique patterns making this plant a standout collector specimen.
Due to the instability of aurea variegation and the ornamental nature of this cultivated form the plant performs best in controlled indoor environments with stable conditions.

Care guide
Light
Bright indirect light. Provide strong filtered light to maintain aurea variegation and support healthy growth. Avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the lighter areas of the leaves.
High Humidity
High humidity is preferred ideally above sixty percent. Consistent humidity helps preserve leaf structure and reduces stress.
Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an airy and well draining aroid substrate to support healthy roots and prevent compaction.
Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or remain waterlogged.
Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and twenty eight degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty two degrees Fahrenheit. Protect from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.
Growth habit and additional care
Upright non climbing growth with elongated sculptural foliage. This plant is sensitive to stress low humidity and inconsistent care. Stable conditions minimal handling and a consistent routine are essential for long term success.
