Alocasia azlanii Aurea is an exceptionally rare and highly sought after jewel Alocasia prized for its glowing golden variegation. Native to the rainforests of Borneo this extraordinary plant features warm yellow to golden marbling layered over deep metallic purple green leaves with subtle iridescent tones and pronounced veins. The luminous contrast gives the foliage an almost radiant appearance making each leaf completely unique and visually striking.

This Aurea form is the result of selective cultivation and is known for its unstable variegation which makes it a true collector piece. Due to its sensitivity and slow growth it requires carefully controlled conditions and attentive care making it best suited for experienced plant enthusiasts.

Care guide

Light
Bright indirect light. Provide plenty of filtered light to support healthy growth and maintain variegation. Avoid direct sunlight which can damage the leaves.

High Humidity
Very high humidity is essential preferably above seventy percent. Stable humidity levels help prevent stress and leaf damage.

Soil
Light chunky soil mix. Use an extremely airy and well draining aroid mix to protect the roots and avoid excess moisture.

Watering
Keep evenly moist. Allow the top layer of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings. Do not let the plant dry out completely.

Temperature
Keep it warm between twenty and thirty degrees Celsius or sixty eight to eighty six degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid temperature fluctuations and cold air.

Fertilizer
Light regular feeding during the growing season supports steady growth. Use a balanced fertilizer at low strength.

Growth habit

Additional care
This plant has compact upright growth with no climbing behavior. It's slow growing and highly sensitive to stress, low humidity and inconsistent care. Stable conditions are key to long term success.
