Alocasia baginda 'Dragon Scale' Albo is an ultra-rare and highly coveted variegated form of the classic Alocasia baginda 'Dragon Scale'. It combines the mythical, armor-like texture of the original with striking white and cream variegation that appears marbled or splashed across its thick, silvery-green leaves. The dramatic contrast between the bold dark veining, pearly background, and irregular variegation gives this plant a surreal, otherworldly presence, making it a true collector's centerpiece.

Due to its rarity and slower growth rate, Dragon Scale Albo is best suited for experienced plant lovers or those ready to provide a stable environment for this sensitive, yet stunning, tropical treasure.

Care guide:

Light
Requires bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation and vibrant color. Avoid direct sun, which can burn the white portions of the leaves. Insufficient light may lead to dull variegation or leggy growth.

Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering or poor drainage is the most common cause of stress.

Temperature & Humidity
Thrives in warm, stable temperatures between 20–28°C (68–82°F). High humidity (above 60%) is essential. Use a humidifier or pebble tray if needed. Dry air can cause crisping or browning of the white areas.

Soil
Use a well-draining, airy mix, such as coco coir or peat blended with perlite and orchid bark. The roots need moisture without compacted or soggy conditions.

Fertilizing
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Avoid overfeeding, and reduce frequency during cooler months.

Pruning & Maintenance
Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to direct energy to healthy growth. This variety can be sensitive to environmental changes, consistency in care is key. The white parts of the leaves have less chlorophyll, so the plant may grow slower than non-variegated forms.

Pests
Monitor for spider mites, mealybugs, and thrips, especially in dry conditions. Keep humidity up and inspect regularly.
